PostHeaderIcon DS18S20 / DS9490 One Wire Hardware Setup

This is how I wired up my DS9490 to work with my DS18S20 and DS18S20+PAR Temperature Sensors. I use this hardware setup and pipe output to RRDtool on a Linux box to monitor temperatures in everything from my Home brew Fermenter to the Workshop. I will have a separate Document for that. I have 3 sensors hooked up right now, but I plan to have up to 8 going when I am done.

Here is the pin out of the DS9490:

Here is looking into the DS9490R

Here is how I pined mine out with the colors I used. I used these colors because I used the EIA/TIA 568B standard for the rest of the CAT 5 wiring.

Here are a couple shots of the cat 5 I used plugged into the DS9490R :

I used standard cat 5 connectors and EIA/TIA 568B pin outs to connect the rest up.

The red wire connects the junction box back to the DS9490R and then out to the sensors:

Thats it for the hardware. Now we will move on to the hardware.
